Is Your Child in Simsbury Ready to Find Their Voice?

There’s something I’ve noticed about Simsbury families over the years.

You invest in your children. Seriously and thoughtfully. The schools here are strong, the community is engaged, and parents pay attention. When a child shows a gift or a passion, Simsbury parents don’t ignore it. They look for the right place to develop it.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already noticed something in your child. Maybe they sing constantly. Maybe they memorize every line from every show they watch. Maybe they light up the moment there’s an audience, even if that audience is just the family at dinner. And you’re wondering what to do with that.

I’ve been answering that question for families just like yours for over 35 years. Let me share what I know.

Simsbury Kids Are Ready for More

Simsbury has one of the strongest school music cultures in Hartford County. The programs here are good. Your child is probably already involved in something — a school musical, a chorus, a drama club. And that’s wonderful. Those programs do real things for kids.

But here’s what I’ve seen happen over and over. A child gets a taste of performing arts through school and something wakes up in them. They want more. They want to go deeper. They start asking questions their school program wasn’t designed to answer.

How do I actually improve my singing? How do I prepare for a real audition? How do I get from the ensemble to a lead role? How do I make All-State chorus?

Those are private coaching questions. And that’s where I come in.

Nearly 30 Years in Simsbury

I’ve been running performing arts programs in Simsbury since 1997. That’s nearly 30 years of working with families in this community. I’ve watched children come through our programs as shy seven year olds and leave as confident young performers.

Tom Tyburski, Recreation Supervisor at Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation, wrote to us after six years of partnership: “The programs delivered by Performing Arts Programs have been of the highest quality. Every class has been professionally run and fostered an environment in which each participant has been placed in the best possible position to succeed. I have received nothing but positive feedback from parents and children.”

I say that not to impress you but to tell you this. I know this community. I know these kids. And I know what they’re capable of when someone believes in them and gives them the right environment to grow.

Two Ways to Get Started

Our group acting classes are a wonderful entry point for children who are curious but not sure yet how deep they want to go. Warm, supportive, no experience needed. Just show up and try.

For students who are ready for focused one-on-one work, private coaching through Lamb Studios Online is the next step. Every lesson is with me personally, online via Zoom, from the comfort of your home. No driving. No scheduling around traffic. Just your child, their goals, and someone who has been developing young performers in this community for nearly 30 years.

The trial lesson is $65, a full 45 minutes with me personally. If your child continues with weekly coaching within 30 days that $65 goes straight toward the first month. No risk. Just a real first step.

One Last Thing

Simsbury families know quality. You’ve seen it in your schools, your programs, your community. You apply that same standard when it comes to your children’s development.

I’d simply ask you to give us one conversation. One trial lesson. Let your child experience what focused performing arts coaching feels like. I think you’ll see something in them you didn’t expect.
